The Pirates’ woeful pitching knocked them out of the game early again yesterday, as they were demolished by the Mets, 13-2.
As New York’s Noah Syndergaard was dominating Pirates’ hitters, the Bucs’ Joe Musgrove gave up eight runs in three and a third innings.
Colin Moran finally got the Pirates on the board with an RBI single in the seventh. Jose Osuna went 2-for-2 with a double and a homer.
Dario Agrazal gets the start tonight as the Pirates open a three-game home series against Milwaukee against former Bucco Jordan Lyles. The Pirates have announced that Steven Brault will return to the rotation tomorrow night for Game Two of the Brewers series. Brault has been out since experiencing shoulder pain while pitching July 5th against the Brewers.
