Altoona’s struggles continued as the Curve blew a one-run lead in the bottom of the tenth and lost, 9-7 to Reading, which swept the Curve in the weekend series.
The Curve erased a 4-2 deficit in the 9th as Jason Delay launched a game-tying two run home run and Jared Oliva squeezed a bases-loaded two-run double down the first base line. But the Fightin’ Phils rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th off Altoona’s Blake Cederlind.
Altoona re-took the lead on a fielding error that scored “placed runner” Oliva in the 10th. But Reading got an RBI single by Mickey Moniak and Alec Bohm’s walkoff two-run homer off the Curve’s Joel Cesar.
The Curve start a seven-game homestand tonight against Richmond with Nicholas Economos getting the ball. He is 0-2 in his brief Double-A stint with Altoona, with an ERA of 9.00.
