VOLLEYBALL
In a Heritage Conference match yesterday, Homer-Center swept United, 3-0, by scores of 25-12, 25-8, and 25-18. Macy Sardone had 31 assists and 4 aces for the Wildcats. Meegan Williams had 17 kills. Anna Cutshall had 23 digs. Ashlyn Kerr had 9 kills and Alayna Fabin had 8.
Northern Cambria got by Purchase Line, 3-1, by scores of 26-24, 23-25, 26-24, and 25-17.
Portage took out Cambria Heights, 25-16, 25-15, and 25-17.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Indiana High school cross country teams split their double dual meets yesterday.
The Indiana girls defeated Penn Trafford 20-39 but fell to Hempfield 23-32. Indiana had three runners in the top ten: Addy Fry finished third overall in 21:01 followed by Emmy Davis in fifth, Chloe Hain in sixth, and Belinda Lin in tenth.
The Indiana boys also defeated Penn Trafford 17-45 hut narrowly lost to Hempfield 25-30. Indiana had five runners in the top ten, led by Jon Berzonsky with a third place finish in 18:13. Jacob Gill finished fifth, Seth Weaver sixth, Will Berzonsky in eighth, and Brennan Huff in tenth.
Both the girls and boys raised their records to 6-2. The teams will compete next Thursday in the Indiana County meet at IUP.
