A long-standing Homer City area business closed its doors for good last month.
On June 7th, Homer City Tire employees were told by representatives of their owners, Lockhart Tire in Pittsburgh, that their business would close and all their stock and machinery would be moved to their Pittsburgh location. As of today, employees of Homer City Tire are still moving equipment to Lockhart Tire in Pittsburgh.
Representatives of Homer City Tire say a lack of business prompted the closure, but that has not been confirmed by Lockhart Tire. There was also word that Lockhart was looking for someone to buy the business recently. There’s no word yet on how many employees are affected. We’ve reached out to Lockhart Tire for further comment and we are waiting for their reply.
