Multiple fire companies were called out to IRMC at Chestnut Ridge Complex in Burrell Township after fire alarms went off, but it turned out to be nothing more than smoke from an air conditioning unit.
Six fire departments were called out last night at 11:56 PM to Colony Boulevard in Burrell Township to the IRMC at Chestnut Ridge building, including Blacklick, Blairsville, Armagh, Indiana, Clyde and Coral-Graceton fire departments. Dan Schacreaw of the Blacklick Township Fire Department said that the source of the alarm was a malfunctioning belt in the building’s air conditioning unit, and the smoke was pushed into the building.
No injuries were reported, and fire crews were back at their respective stations within an hour.
