INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana borough police have charged an Indiana man for a theft that happened back in May. Police say that they began investigating the theft complaint on May 24th in the 300 block of Water Street. Police believe that 47-year-old Mark McKendrick went onto someone else’s property and took a weed eater. McKendrick is charged with misdemeanor offenses of theft by unlawful taking and loitering and prowling at night. A criminal complaint was filed through District Judge Guy Haberl’s office.
An Indiana man was charged by borough police with public drunkenness. Police say on July 25th, police were told of a man sleeping on a bench and was possibly unresponsive. Police later found the man in the 500 block of Philadelphia Street, identified as Matthew Frank, and found that he was supremely under the influence of alcohol, to the point where he may have been a danger to himself and others. He was taken to the hospital and after he was cleared, he was cited for public drunkenness and placed in Indiana County Jail on a temporary detainer.

State police have charged two people with trashing a hotel room in White Township. Troopers say that this happened on Tuesday at the Quality Inn in Indiana. 29-year-old Lawrence Anthony Anderson and 21-year-old Shayna Marie Dykes allegedly damaged the hotel room during their stay and then faked payment for the damage. Police say the two did over $1000 in damage to the room.
State police have charged three people with harassment and disorderly conduct for an incident that happened on Sunday at a business in White Township. Police say that at 10:51 on Sunday, Garret Hagerman, and Benjamin and Emily Rolley, all of Indiana were involved in a physical and verbal altercation at the Lowe’s store of Indiana. Charges were filed against all three at District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office in Homer City.
State police are continuing to investigate a theft at a home in the 100 block of Oakland Avenue in Homer City. Troopers say that at 6:00 PM on July 18th, someone entered the home of a 43-year-old Homer City man and took a jar of coins valued at about $300 and about seven gallons of gasoline while he was holding a party.
