Later this week, Indiana Borough’s Department of Public Works will conduct some smoke tests of the borough’s sanitary sewer system.
Dave Fairman of the borough’s public works department said that he will start in the areas of Water Street and Coulter Avenue and work his way to a manhole on water street, and move south. Fairman talked about how the test works.

The eventual plan is to cover all of Indiana borough, which could take a while. If a tap-in is determined to be in violation, it will be documented.
Tests will get underway on Thursday, and Fairman says they will need dry weather to conduct the tests.
