INDIANA BOROUGH POLICE
Indiana Borough Police are investigating a case of trespass that may be a homeless person trying to find a home. Police say they were called out on Thursday to an incident of trespass in the area of 1300 Locust Street. A borough resident reported finding personal property of another person in a wooded side yard, which gave them the indication that someone was staying there during overnight hours. Anyone with any information on this is asked to call Indiana Borough Police at 724-349-2121. Also, police are encouraging that anyone needing adequate shelter to call the same number to get some additional assistance.
Police have charged an Indiana man with public drunkenness for an incident last Monday. Borough police say they were called out at 7:40 PM for a report of an intoxicated man walking in the area of the Indiana Fire Association, and the caller said that they were afraid he would stagger into traffic. Police were able to find the man, Matthew Frank, in the 600 block of Philadelphia Street, in an intoxicated state. Frank was arrested and placed in Indiana County Jail on a temporary detainer, and he’s been charged with the summary offense of public drunkenness.
