Week Six of the high school football season arrives with some key matchups in the Heritage Conference in a pivotal weekend and with four radio games on our Renda Broadcasting radio stations and two on Renda Digital TV.
On WCCS tonight, 3-2 Homer-Center welcomes 3-2 Portage to Memorial Stadium.
Homer Center coach Greg Page says Portage is a handful offensively and defensively.
Portage coach Marty Slanoc has the keys to the game for his team.
The game has a special flavor to it as Portage High School principal Ralph Cecere prepares to exit the district to take over as the superintendent of Homer-Center. Slanoc hopes that at least for now, Cecere’s heart remains with Portage.

On 92.5 FM U92 tonight, the only remaining undefeated team in the Heritage Conference, Penns Manor, meets once-beaten Northern Cambria. The Comets are coming off a 40-0 thrashing of West Shamokin while the Colts narrowly lost to Homer-Center last week.

On Cat Country, 106.3 FM tonight, River Valley travels to West Shamokin, with the Panthers looking for their first win against a Wolves team that stumbled last week against Penns Manor.

River Valley coach Jess Houser says the Wolves’ Lou Swartz and Dylan Wolfe are a great rushing combination.
The other Heritage Conference games tonight are once-beaten Cambria Heights at United Valley, which is coming off its first win of the season; and Purchase Line welcomes Marion Center in a matchup of two one-win backyard rivals.
On WDAD tonight, Indiana looks to break a two-game slide with a visit to winless Kiski Area.
