State police have charged a man from Gipsy and a woman from Johnstown with crimes connected with an incident on Tuesday in Montgomery Township. Troopers say 46-year-old Rita May Huey of Gipsey and 27-year-old Graceann Louise Hankinson of Johnstown were involved in a verbal argument at a residence on Gorman road that turned physical. After the fight, the two separated without further incidents. Hankinson was charged with simple assault and harassment and logged in the Indiana County Jail to await arraignment in front of District Judge Guy Haberl. Huey was cited with harassment for a non-traffic citation.
Another case of simple assault was reported in White Township on Monday. State police say this happened on 38 Winding Lane at 1:25 PM. 19-year-old Frank Edward Pennington, Jr. of Indiana and the victim, identified only as a 27-year-old Indiana woman, got into an argument that escalated. Charges were prepared and a warrant was issued for Pennington, but he ultimately turned himself in. He was arraigned by District Judge Guy Haberl and bail was set at $5000
