Marion Center School Board voted to accept the four-year Targeted School Improvement Plan after hearing a presentation from Director of Education Amy Gaston at last night’s combined session.
The plan, which falls under the federal Every Students Succeeds Act (ESSA), will assist the district in addressing and supporting the needs of students with disabilities. Gaston says that close to twenty-percent of Marion Center students are currently enrolled in special education programs across the district.

Gaston says that the plan includes adding programs and services with the goal of increasing the success and culture of the district as a whole. The district’s progress will be assessed annually for the next four years and the plan will be redeveloped accordingly.
