The Marion Center School Board meets tonight, and the major agenda item is a presentation by Director of Education Amy Gaston on the Targeted School Improvement Plan. That’s a state-assisted program for schools identified by the federal government as needing support with certain aspects of the Every Student Succeeds Act.
Marion Center’s Targeted Improvement Plan will help the district address the needs of students with disabilities at the high school building. West Shamokin is another school in the area with the same federal designation. The program is developed in collaboration with the State Education Department.
After Gaston’s presentation, the board is expected to take a vote on accepting the Targeted School Improvement Plan.
The board’s agenda also includes a number of personnel moves and preparations for the upcoming school year.
