The Indiana County Commissioners have filed formal notice that they will request the release of Community Development Block Grant funds for a project to demolish the Old Mine Office Building in Ernest and to re-use the site of the building as a community park/green space.
There is $60,000 available for the work. As required, the county has established that the project will have no impact on the human environment, and therefore an Environmental Impact Statement is not required. Members of the public who disagree with that assessment may file objections by August 4th, the day before the request for the funds will be made to the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
