State police have identified the 9-year-old Amish boy who drowned Saturday afternoon while fishing near the Mahoning Dam in Wayne Township, Armstrong County.
Allen Miller of Dayton had been left on a boulder alongside the Mahoning Creek Lake when he apparently slipped into the water. Family members searched for him but could not find him because the water was deeper than expected, and when they did find him, they were unable to revive him. He was flown to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was pronounced dead.
