A look at the state’s budget subsidies for Indiana County’s seven school districts shows modest increases for them all, including less than one percent for three.
Final figures released by the Pennsylvania Department of Education show Indiana Area with the largest basic funding increase, 2.2 percent. That amounts to about $208,000.
Homer Center is next, with a 2.1 percent boost, or roughly $118,000 more than in fiscal 2019.
Blairsville-Saltsburg will receive a 1.3 percent hike in state funding. Marion Center 1.2 percent. Purchase Line’s subsidy will be .9 percent, and both Penns Manor and United will see increases of .6 percent.
The $34 billion state budget includes subsidy cuts for six of the commonwealth’s districts. The York Suburban School District in York County gets the largest increase, 16.1 percent.
