Many communities in central Indiana County are continuing efforts to clean up and assess damage from last week’s flooding. This includes Indiana Borough, who are making efforts to get their information to the county’s Emergency Management Agency.
Flash flooding in areas of Indiana Borough, White Township and Armstrong Township areas hit the area hard, and a complete picture of how much damage was done is not available yet. That’s because many municipalities are collecting information on how much damage was actually done. Indiana County’s Emergency Management said during the height of the flood activity that any flood damage should be reported to local municipalities. Indiana Borough is making it easier for people to do that with a simple form that is being distributed. That form, provided by Borough Manager Bradley Gotshall, asks about what damages were done during the event, ranging from water in the basement or first floor to structural damage to the appliances affected by the flooding.

Those forms should be returned to the borough office as soon as possible so they can get to the Indiana County Emergency Management Agency as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, White Township is also encouraging their residents to call them and share the flood damage information with them so that the information can be passed along to the EMA.
