The intersection of Route 119 and Lucerne Road will be the focal point of construction tonight and possibly tomorrow.
While PennDOT District 10 has not released any specific information on what will be done in the intersection, signs in the area are saying that construction in that area will commence tonight and run through Saturday, which may cause some traffic tie-ups in a section of the work zone that is already very busy.
In a prior news release, PennDOT said that work would be done at the Route 119/56 intersection starting at 8:00 PM tonight and there would be lane restrictions in effect as milling and paving would take place at that intersection. Road crews expect this portion of the project to be done on July 13th at 6 PM.
This is part of the Route 119 Three Bridges project where road crews repaired one of the bridges and took out the bridge structures for a private railroad and for Tide Road, with Tide Road to become an intersection with 119 later on. Crews have also installed a concrete median barrier, widened Route 119, an fixed a traffic signal at the Route 119/56 intersection.
