A longtime business owner in Indiana borough passed away on Wednesday.
Anthony Marcoaldi was known at the longtime owner of the Indiana Feed and Supply Store on Water Street. Born in Fulton Run, Marcoaldi showed an interest in baseball and was an excellent pitcher in the Pony leagues, including striking out 19 of 21 batters in the 14-15 year old division. After working for the Heinz Factory in Pittsburgh for a few years, he moved back to Indiana and became a Singer Sewer machine salesman and a part time farmer. He then bought Aultman’s Feed Store on Columbus day in 1964 and re-named it to Indiana Feed and Supply with his wife Ann.
The feed store was next door to the Indiana Agway, and former Agway owner John Bertolino said that the two had a good working relationship despite the fact that they were competing stores.
