Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi says his team withstood quite the challenge on Saturday in their win over Western Michigan, which was accomplished with third-string quarterback Nate Yarnell under center. He said Yarnell was calm and the Panthers stuck to their game plan, which featured the running attack. Western Michigan recognized that and loaded up on run defense.
The coach said Yarnell was more than just a handoff machine.
Pitt plays Rhode Island on Saturday, kicking off at noon on WCCS.
