The Pirates open a two-game series at Yankee Stadium against the AL East leading Yankees, whose star outfielder Aaron Judge is chasing Roger Maris’ American League single-season home run record of 61. Judge has 59 entering the game tonight. The Bucs have not named their starter for tonight’s game, but tomorrow’s scheduled Pirates’ starter is former Yankees farmhand Roansy Contreras. Nestor Cortes, (10-4, 2.70 ERA) starts for New York tonight. The airtime on WCCS is 6:40.
All-Star closer David Bednar threw another inning in a rehab stint at Indianapolis last night, giving up one hit and no runs while striking out two. Bednar has been on the injured list with a sore back since August 3rd.

The Mets clinched their first playoff spot in six years last night with a 7-2 win over the Brewers.
The Dodgers clinched the top spot in the NL and a first-round playoff bye with their win over the Diamondbacks.
