The Indiana Area School Board met last night and approved the resignation of its Assistant Superintendent.
As we reported, Robert Rizzo is taking on the assistant superintendent position in the Spring-Ford School District. Rizzo has been with the district for 17 years, starting as a band director in the junior high, and advancing to several other positions including assistant principal at Indiana Senior High, Ben Franklin Elementary principal, coordinator of instructional technology for the district, and for the past year, Rizzo has been the assistant superintendent. Rizzo said that one of the things he’s learned in his time in Indiana is being able to work with people.

Rizzo’s departure also means the elimination of the assistant superintendent’s position. The board also approved the hiring of Robert Heinrich as the district’s new Director of Education, which has many of the same duties as the assistant superintendent. Heinrich wants to hit the ground running and start learning about the district.
