Pitt struggled into the second half before finding its stride behind third-string quarterback Nate Yarnell in a 34-13 win over Western Michigan.
Yarnell, starting in place of the injured Kedon Slovis and Nick Patti, threw for 179 yards and a touchdown and Izzy Abanikanda ran for 133 yards and a TD.
Pitt piled up 238 yards rushing in the game and the Panthers defense limited the Broncos to 180 yards of total offense, with three interceptions.
