It has been a busy weekend for Indiana County’s emergency responders, who since yesterday afternoon have responded to a number of incidents, including three vehicle accidents.
Indiana firefighters were summoned yesterday to Wayne Avenue across from Rose Street, where a vehicle had gone through the intersection and smashed into the Aqua Jet Touch-Free Car Wash. The building was extensively damaged and the Indiana County Emergency Management Agency’s Team 900 responded to assist and determine its structural integrity. No police report is available and there is no word on possible injuries.
Armagh firefighters were dispatched last night shortly before midnight for an accident on Route 22 East. And they were summoned again about two hours later for another accident, again on Route 22 East. No reports are available yet on those crashes.
Other fire calls yesterday included Commodore firefighters summoned for a dumpster fire along Wandin Road in Green Township; Elderton and Indiana firefighters extinguishing a vehicle fire along South Lytle Road in Armstrong Township; Clyde firefighters called out for trees down along Muir Road in West Wheatfield Township; and Blairsville firefighters dispatched into Westmoreland County just after midnight today to set up a landing zone.
