The Penguins open their rookie camp today at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry. It will be the first camp for first round draft choice Owen Pickering, the 6-foor-4-inch defenseman taken with the 21st overall selection in June.
Twenty-five players are expected on the ice today. The roster includes thirteen forwards, nine defensemen, and three goaltenders. Twenty-three of the 25 at the rookie camp will remain to take part in the full training camp, which opens a week from today.
