Last night at the Indiana Borough Agenda Preparation meeting, members of borough council discussed the “It’s a Wonderful Life Festival” with Downtown Indiana, Inc.
Some of the issues brought up included one making sure the public knows that a restaurant in the area of IRMC Park is open despite the fact that a portion of North 7th Street is closed. One idea was to change the location, but Linda Mitchell of Downtown Indiana said that there aren’t a lot of places for the large Christmas Tree that has become a tradition with the festival.

Other ideas discussed included expanding the festival so there would be activities during the week as well as the weekend, and a webcam focused on the large town Christmas Tree. Light up night this year is November 22nd with the festival starting the next day.
In other business, it was announced that first ward council member Kitty Hood had stepped down from her position. The borough now has 30 days to find her replacement. Anyone who lives in the first ward interested in the position can send a letter of interest email to Sara Steelman or Peter Broad, and those email addresses can be found at the Indiana Borough website, www.indianaboro.com
