State police have announced that one person was arrested in a investigation separate from the shooting at the Days Inn near Blairsville on Monday.
State police say 35-year-old David Lee Walker, Jr. of North Versailles was taken into custody during an investigation into suspected drug activity at the hotel. On Monday, troopers received word from an undercover informant about Walker. When troopers knocked on the door of Walker’s room, they heard a flushing noise from inside. Troopers with the help of an officer from Indiana Borough police searched the room and were able to retrieve the contents that Walker allegedly tried to flush down the toilet, which included two bags that contained suspected heroin, crack cocaine, and marijuana.
In total, the investigators seized 24 grams of suspected crack, 243 stamp bags of suspected heroin, and a small amount of marijuana. Troopers also found some cash, a digital scale and other items.
Walker is now facing charges of felony possession with intent to deliver, felony criminal use of a communications facility, and one count of misdemeanor drug possession and of possession of drug paraphernalia. He is in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $150,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 16th at 10:00 AM.
