Over the past few weeks, motorists have seen gas prices go up, and that upward trend continues across the state and in Indiana County.
As we get into the heart of the Independence Day driving period, gas prices are increasing as more motorists are expected to hit the road. But prices are increasing further because of the fire at the PES South Philadelphia refinery forcing the refinery’s closure. Prices across western Pennsylvania are at $2.91 a gallon, that’s an increase in seven cents a gallon. Indiana’s gas prices have also seen an upward trend as well, with prices across the county averaging at $2.96 a gallon. The lowest gas price of our neighboring counties is Cambria County at $2.90 a gallon, with the most expensive in Jefferson County at $2.99 a gallon.
The Average gas price across the United States is at $2.73 a gallon.
