Thomas W. Uhron, age 94, of Indiana, died Sunday, June 30,
2019 at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana.
He was born in 1924 in Chambersville to George and Mary
Gresock Uhron
A veteran of WW II, He enlisted in the US Navy after his 18th
birthday in 1942 and served in the US Navy as a Radioman.
Upon discharge he was employed in various sales positions in
Indiana. He was self-employed as an Insurance Agent at the A.B.
Millen Insurance Agency in Plumville for 25 years until his
retirement in 1995.
Tom was a long time member of the Indiana Optimist Club and
was a umpire, coach, and supporter of the Little League Baseball
program. He was also a life-time member of the VFW Post
#1989.
Tom was married to the former Margie Agnes Millen who
preceded him in death in 2009. He was also an avid hunter and
fisherman and enjoyed his time in camp in Clarion County.
He is survived by two sons, Barry T. and wife Darlene, Indiana;
Mark A. and wife Marivic, Vienna, VA; two granddaughters,
Lyndsey Parrilla and husband Juan, Medina, OH; Carmela
Uhron, Vienna, VA, and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was the last surviving member of his immediate family of
12 children.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. at the
Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A funeral mass will be
celebrated on Wednesday at 10 A.M. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux
Roman Catholic Church, Indiana. Interment will be made in the
St. Bernard Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be
provided by the VFW Post #1989.
