Coming off a disappointing overtime loss to Tennessee, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi says his team has to focus on this week’s opponent, Western Michigan, while putting back together an offense that suffered some key losses, including quarterback Kedon Slovis.
Narduzzi did not update the status of Slovis yesterday, nor of backup Nick Patti, who suffered a leg injury in the fourth quarter. He did say Patti’s injury was not as apparent to the coaches as it seemed to be to the media because, the coach said, the video they reviewed only shows the plays, not what happens between them, where Patti was limping noticeably.
Pitt was upset by Western Michigan, 44-41 last season. Narduzzi says that thanks to the transfer portal, teams from mid-major conferences like the MAC are getting harder to beat.
The Panthers travel to Kalamazoo Saturday night, kicking off at 7:30.
