Homer-Center shut out United in three close sets, 26-24, 25-21, and 25-20. Meegan Williams had 21 kills for the Wildcats and Anna Cutshall had 31 digs. Cutshall and Ashlyn Kerr both had three service aces and Macy Sardone had two. Molly Kosmack had 6 blocks.
GIRLS GOLF
River Valley knocked off Portage yesterday, 244-256. Maren Dunlap led the Panthers with a 54, one shot off the pace of the Mustangs’ Bailey Patalune. River Valley is now 4-3.
BOYS GOLF
West Shamokin defeated River Valley at the White Oak Golf Course yesterday, 194 to 227. The Wolves’ Alex Talmadge and Sean McCullough shared medalist honors, each shooting a 36. Tyler Geist and Gunnar Shoop each shot 40, Logan Geist shot 42 and Travis Johns a 44. For the Panthers, Jake Pynos and Jeremy Reed both shot 40, Holden Fridley a 48, Cole Stuchal a 49, Bryson McDowell a 51 and Shawn Knupp a 61.
West Shamokin is 12-2, River Valley 3-5.
