A pedestrian was hurt early this afternoon as she was hit by a car while crossing Eighth Street in Downtown Indiana.
Indiana Borough Police Patrolman Randy Almendinger said that the driver of a four-door compact car had stopped at the intersection of 8th and Philadelphia and was headed south, getting ready to make a right turn, and the pedestrian was crossing 8th Street in the crosswalk, heading west.

The identity of the driver and the victim have not been released yet but we do know the victim was an employee of the Prothonotary’s office. She was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center for treatment of suspected minor injuries. The driver was not cited by police on the scene, but a citation could come soon.
