The Pirates busted out the bats and Mitch Keller was dominant on the mound last night in their series opener against the Mets.
Greg Brown has the story.
Manager Derek Shelton says Cruz is developing as a hitter, and he hurts the baseball…last night his hits clocked 110.9 miles per hour, 115.3, and 113.4.
Keller worked his way through a tough Mets lineup and got some key outs with runners on base. Shelton was impressed.
The Bucs and the Mets will play two today. In a day/night doubleheader, the Pirates will start Bryse Wilson against Mets ace Jacob DeGrom in the first game.
