Penguins’ captain Sidney Crosby finished second in the Hart Memorial Trophy race as the NHL’s most valuable player. Tampa Bay Lightning winger Nikita Kucherov won the award last night. He received 164 of 171 first-place votes and finished with 1,677 voting points. Crosby finished second with 739 voting points.
The NHL Draft will be held in Vancouver starting tomorrow night. While division foes the Rangers and Devils will be landing the prized players, Jack Hughes and Kaapo Kakko, the Pens will have the 21st pick – barring a trade – and hold five total picks, with none in the second or third rounds.
