The state House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee yesterday unanimously passed Representative Jim Struzzi’s resolution calling for reintroducing whole milk on school menus.
The committees action came as hundreds of dairy farmers rallied at the capitol yesterday to urge lawmakers to support Congressman G.T. Thompson’s federal push for while milk in schools, called “Whole Milk for Healthy Kids”.
Struzzi says his House Resolution 402 reinforces Thompson’s efforts in Washington, and makes sense, both for kids and farmers.
The committee also unanimously passed Representative John Lawrence’s resolution urging the U.S. Department of Agriculture to enforce the standard of identity for milk and milk products.
