Last night at the Indiana School District Buildings, Grounds and transportation committee, and members of the school board discussed the fourth and final option before the school board concerning the elementary schools.
Last night, the board discussed renovating Ben Franklin Elementary School, East Pike and Eisenhower, and closing Horace Mann. The other options would be to keep all four schools open and do minor renovations; Close Ben Franklin, add classrooms at East Pike and Eisenhower and renovate Eisenhower and Horace Mann; and to tear down and rebuild Ben Franklin, close Horace Mann and update East Pike and Eisenhower.
School Board President Walter Schroth was at last night’s meeting and after the presentation was made, he quoted “The Walrus and The Carpenter”, saying it was time now for the board to talk of other things, specifically, narrowing down the field of choices

Schroth added that in making this decision, the board will take into consideration what will be best for the district, but….

A decision on which option to finally take or which options to take a further look at could come as early as next Monday’s meeting.
