A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held earlier today at the new US Post Office in Coral.

This marks the first time that residents of Coral will be able to pick up mail at their local post office since 2016 when the post office burned down in an arson fire. Since that time, residents of Coral have been going to the Homer City post office to pick up their mail.
On hand for today’s ceremonies was Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson, who made it a personal mission of his to get the post office back in Coral. He said that the new facility turned out really well.
Center Township Supervisor Matt Housholder called it an important part of the community.

Construction on the building started in April of this year on property owned by and adjacent to the Coral-Graceton Fire Department. The new building will aid the fire department as the Postal Service has been paying rent on the building since the lease was initially signed. The new post office will offer 24/7 access to PO boxes along with counter service for a few hours each day. Coral residents are reminded while their box size may have changed, their PO Box number has not.
