Indiana County’s first responders had a busy day on Sunday.
Two vehicle accidents were reported yesterday. The first was at 8:45 AM on Route 403 South in Buffington Township. Vintondale firefighters, Citizens’ Ambulance and State Police were dispatched at the time. The other crash was at 9:03 PM on Route 22 East in West Wheatfield Township. Citizens’ and state police were called out again along with Clyde and Armagh-East Wheatfield fire departments. State police have not yet provided details on either crash.
Two fires were also reported yesterday. One was a structure fire on Campbell Road in East Wheatfield Township. Clyde, Armagh, Seward, New Florence and Brush Valley fire departments were called out at 2:23 PM, along with Citizens Ambulance.
The other fire was a brush fire on Railroad Avenue in Homer City Borough. Homer City fire crews were dispatched at 3:10 PM. That brush fire marks the 38th brush fire of the year in the county.
There were also calls for utility lines down in Rayne Township at 6:36 PM. Clymer Fire department was dispatched for that. A similar call was reported along Lear Road in Burrell Township, with Blairsville and Black Lick firefighters dispatched at 6:56 PM. And an automatic fire alarm went off at 9:03 PM on Warren Road in White Township. Indiana Fire Association members were called out at that time.
