A Homer City man has been charged with aggravated assault for an attack on a woman at a home along Henry Road in Center Township on Thursday evening.
State police say 55-year-old Jeff Lee Williams grabbed the 54-year-old victim by the neck and constricted her airway, telling her he was going to kill her. Police say he then threw her down a flight of stairs to a mid-floor landing, then kicked her in the abdomen, causing her to be thrown down the rest of the stairs. When the woman left the house to get her keys and purse from a vehicle, Williams grabbed her by the head and threw her to the ground, where he stomped on her back with his boots.
In addition to aggravated assault, Williams is charged with strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment. He was arraigned on Friday before District Judge Guy Haberl and ordered held at the Indiana County Jail after being unable to post $30,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 12th.
