The high school football season kicks off tonight with games on all four of our Renda Broadcasting radio stations, and also with two games on Renda Digital TV.
On WCCS tonight, it’s Homer Center hosting the new United Valley football team, which is the combined teams of United and Blacklick Valley.
Homer-Center coach Greg Page has the keys to the game for his Wildcats.
Page took a look at United Valley in their scrimmage against Conemaugh Township and he knows the Wildcats have a tough challenge.
United Valley coach Kevin Marabito says his team has to get off on the right foot.
Marabito says bringing together two programs that have not won a lot of football games has brought with it a special challenge.
The broadcast begins at 6:20 on WCCS and at 6:30 on Renda Digital TV at wccsradio.com, brought to you by the Graceton-Coral Sportsmen’s Club. Watch the game at WCCSradio.com.
On Cat Country, 106.3 FM, River Valley takes on Portage, a traditional WestPAC power that has joined the Heritage Conference this season.
Panthers coach Jess Houser says Portage will be ready to make a big first impression.
Mustangs coach Marty Slanoc says his team is ready to start the weekly battles in the Heritage Conference.
On the Heritage Conference Game of the Week on 92.5 FM, U92, backyard rivals Purchase Line and Penns Manor renew their over-the-hedge competition.
Red Dragons coach Matt Falisec is looking forward to kicking it off.
Comets coach Bill Packer has a veteran group of ball carriers behind an improving offensive line.
The other Heritage Conference games tonight include Marion Center visiting West Shamokin and the renewal of the Coal Bowl with Cambria Heights at Northern Cambria.
On WDAD and Renda Digital TV tonight, Indiana and new head coach Brad Wright hit the road to open the WPIAL season at Freeport. Visit WDADradio.com to watch the game.
Wright says Freeport has talent and speed, so his guys are going to have to be ready.
Indiana’s Renda Digital TV broadcasts all season long are brought to you by the Bowser Minich Funeral Home. You can see the game by clicking on the link at wdadradio.com.
