Indiana Borough Police say they’ve identified the suspect in a burglary this month at S&S Screen Printing, and they’re asking for the public’s help in locating him.
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 28-year-old Raymond Clair Spencer of Indiana. He is charged with four felonies – for burglary, theft, criminal trespass, and receiving stolen property – and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
Police say that on the night of May 20th, a large safe and dolly were stolen from the business in the 1200 block of School Street. They say Spencer got in through a window and video surveillance shows him wheeling the safe away on the dolly.
With the assistance of the dive team from the Blairsville Volunteer Fire Company, they were able to recover the safe and dolly from a retention pond in the 1400 block of Washington Street. The safe was severely damaged and its large compartment was empty. Approximately $5,000 and a number of documents were taken.
Spencer is believed to have fled to Ohio. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to call police at 349-2121.
