Several people were able to capture pictures of funnel clouds during yesterday’s storms, and the National Weather Service confirmed today that the funnel cloud spotted yesterday afternoon was the third tornado to hit the county in the last two days.
The NWS reported that a storm survey showed another EF-0 tornado hit the area of Route 553 in Penn Run at about 3:45 PM. No major damage was reported, and the NWS reported there were a few trees down and reports of the funnel cloud.
While tornadoes are not expected tonight, there is a strong chance for strong rain and thunderstorms. And with the area under a flash flood watch, that means that conditions are favorable for flooding. Rain will fall on ground that is already saturated with water, which means flooding of roads, streams and creeks will be possible.
That flash flood watch for Indiana and some of the surrounding area expires at 2:00 AM Thursday morning.
