Both REA Energy and Penelec are reporting scattered outages this morning related to the storms that went through the area last night.
REA Energy reported that at the height of the storms last night, 2,250 of their customers were without power. Right now, about 350 customers remain without power this morning. Crews are continuing to work in the southern part of Indiana county to restore service. The largest outage reported by REA right now is affecting 52 customers in the Armagh and Seward areas.
The West Wheatfield area is also seeing 50 Penelec customers affected right now with power outages. Penelec is also reporting a major outage in the Young Township area, with 210 Penelec customers without power right now due to storm damage, and in Burrell Township, 78 customers are still without power. Penelec says that power will be restored to a majority of those customers by 4:00 PM today. Penelec is also reporting just a handful of outages in several different areas, including Homer City/Lucernemines, Penn Run and Commodore.
Penelec reps said that at the peak of the storm, 2800 of their customers were without power.
