One person was left homeless Monday morning as her house caught fire and was destroyed.
Five fire crews were initially called out for the fire at 5:01 this morning on Route 422 in Pine Township. Pine Township, Cherryhill Township, Clymer, Hope and Vintondale fire departments were initially called out along with Blacklick Valley EMS to the home of Martha Syster. The home was destroyed by the fire. Syster is being helped by both the Red Cross and her caretaker Jeanie Monteith.
The fire re-kindled around 12:00 noon on Monday, with Pine and Cherryhill Township fire departments returning to the scene. The cause of the fire is not known at this time and state police fire marshals are investigating the cause. No one was hurt.
