The road and bridge construction season is in full swing, and there are some new restrictions that will take effect tomorrow.
PennDOT says the Route 22 resurfacing project in East Wheatfield Township will get underway tomorrow, with lane restrictions in effect from the West Philadelphia Street intersection in Armagh through the Cramer Pike exit at Route 403. The work will include milling the four-lane highway, filling cracks and holes, structure painting, ramp work at both the Route 56 and Route 403 intersections on Route 22, and a new asphalt road surface. The lane restrictions will alternate on the divided highway through the end of October.
Five Points Road in Armstrong Township will be closed tomorrow from the Route 422 intersection to the intersection with Creek Road, due to the replacement of the existing bridge structure over Crooked Creek. PennDOT does not say how long the closure will last.
Lane restrictions were to have started tomorrow in the Homer City/Center Township Three Bridges project between Lucerne Mines Road and Route 56, but those restrictions were moved up and started last Thursday. They’ll be in effect through mid-August.
Work continues on the Grove Chapel Hill widening project on Route 119 in Rayne Township and on a bridge structure on Route 119 in Home. There is also ongoing work on the Dixonville Bridge #1 just outside of Dixonville on Route 403, and on Old Route 119 on Bryan Hill in White Township.
And signs went up last week announcing the start of work on the Route 119 Bypass in White Township, south of the Route 286 Clymer exit. PennDOT has not issued a release on that work yet.
