The River Valley School Board will hold its monthly meeting tonight as it continues to get ready for the first day of school on Thursday.
Among the items on the agenda for tonight, three policies will be up for final approval. All of them have to do with the STEAM academy going in at the former Saltsburg Middle-High School Campus. The policies will deal with the STEAM academy’s student enrollment evaluation, student admissions for the academy, and the academy’s eligibility for non-resident students. This will mark the official second reading of these policies.
The board will also look to approve a stipend of $20,000 for the upcoming school year to pay for the services of Jeannie Bell, who will perform educational public relations activities. The money will come from the ESSER III revised grant funding. The board will also adopt the superintendent’s performance goals for the upcoming year.
Tonight’s meeting will start at 7:00 at the River Valley High School Auditorium, and will also be streamed on the district’s YouTube page.
