The Memorial Day weekend observances always include ceremonies at area cemeteries. They start today with a service at McDowell Cemetery in the village of Spruce. It is scheduled for 2 PM. There will also be a service today at 2:30 at the Pine Church Cemetery along Canoe Ridge Road in Rossiter.
Indiana’s Memorial Day observance will be at 10:30 AM at Memorial Park tomorrow, along South 6th Street. Plumville will hold its annual Memorial Day parade and service at 11 AM tomorrow, and Marion Center will have its parade at 1 o’clock and service afterward at around 1:30 at the Marion Center Cemetery.
The Homer City American Legion Post 493 will hold its Memorial Day service at 11 AM on Monday.
Blairsville will hold a parade at 10:30 on Monday, with services afterward at the Blairsville Cemetery Veterans’ Circle.
The Rossiter American Legion Post 582 will conduct services Monday morning at seven cemeteries in northern Indiana County, followed by an 11 AM ceremony at Rossiter Memorial Park. Services will begin at 9 AM at Pearce Cemetery, then proceed every fifteen minutes to Devers Cemetery, Fairview Cemetery, Pine Grove Cemetery, Pine Cemetery, Union Cemetery, and Rossiter Catholic Cemetery.
A service will be held at Iselin Union Cemetery on Monday at 11 AM.
