Indiana County Sheriff Bob Fyock is reminding people about two things that people may think about for summer activities that are actually illegal. One concerns ATV’s and the other concerns a bridge in the county.
In a news release, Fyock said that there have been people who are riding unlicensed and unregistered motor vehicles or unauthorized recreational vehicles in County Parks and on County Trails, which were declared illegal in an ordinance passed in 2008. People who violate the ordinance are subject to fines between $25 and $300, to be imprisoned for 10 days in the Indiana County Jail or both.
Fyock also reminds everyone that Allen Bridge, is off limits for pedestrians except in emergencies. No foot traffic is allowed for any other reason, including standing, sitting, lying on and especially jumping off of Allen Bridge into the Twolick Creek Reservoir. If you are caught, you could face a fine of up to $1000 on top of court costs, ten days in the county jail or both.
