Acting quickly on a tip received at around noon yesterday, state police brought down another methamphetamine manufacturing operation in Buffington Township less than two hours later.
A Homer City man is the suspect, but police have not yet publicly identified him. The meth lab was found along Stewart Hollow Road in Buffington Township, where at about 1:46 PM, a state trooper canvassed the area and found a plastic bag containing the items used for making meth. The State Police Clandestine Laboratory Response Team was notified and collected the contraband without incident. Based on the evidence at the scene and additional information, the suspect was identified. Charges are pending further investigation.
On Monday, police announced more than fifty charges against fourteen people as part of “Operation One-Pot”, a compilation of investigations conducted over the last year. Eleven suspects had been arrested and three were still at large, and there have been no other arrests announced since then.
Yesterday’s discovery in Buffington Township makes twelve methamphetamine operations uncovered in Indiana County in 2019. Police again remind you that anonymous reports may be made at the toll-free 24-hour Drug Trafficking Tip Line at 1-877-PA-NODRUGS.
