The Center Township Supervisors gave an update on the Bethel Church Road Bridge project at last night’s meeting.
On Monday, the road closure was only a partial closure, which meant traffic could travel through the construction zone, but Supervisors Chairman John Bertolino said that starting today, it will be a total road closure. He added that Reams Road should not be utilized as a detour route.
Bertolino also talked about a problem with the Route 56 detour, as the tree canopy is low and could cause problems for tractor-trailer drivers. The low-hanging branches could damage either the truck or the trailer being hauled. Bertolino said he was in contact with PennDOT to get them to trim the tree canopy as it is over a state road.
In other business, the supervisors want to remind everyone in Center Township that trash burning can only take place from 5-9 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and if anyone has any problems, they can call the ordinance enforcement officers.
