One of the main highways near United High School is shut down at this time due to a sinkhole that has formed.
Route 403 is closed in both directions at this time due to what PennDOT called an “emergency sinkhole” that formed sometime last night. The closure is from the exit for 22 east to Charles Road in East Wheatfield Township. The road is expected to re-open at noon today.
Detours have been posted for both commercial and regular traffic. For commercial vehicles, that detour uses Route 22 to Route 56 , while everyone else is encouraged to follow Route 711 to State Route 2013.
